The evolution of disturbances in a hypersonic viscous shock layer on a flat plate excited by slow-mode acoustic waves is considered
numerically and experimentally. The parameters measured in the experiments performed with a free-stream Mach number M
∞ = 21 and Reynolds number Re
L = 1.44 · 105 are the transverse profiles of the mean density and Mach number, the spectra of density fluctuations, and growth rates of
natural disturbances. Direct numerical simulation of propagation of disturbances is performed by solving the Navier-Stokes
equations with a high-order shock-capturing scheme. The numerical and experimental data characterizing the mean flow field,
intensity of density fluctuations, and their growth rates are found to be in good agreement. Possible mechanisms of disturbance
generation and evolution in the shock layer at hypersonic velocities are discussed.

Viscous waves and waves over a submerged cylinder in a stationary tank are simulated using a volume-of-fluid numerical scheme on adaptive hierarchical grids. A high resolution interface-capturing method is used to advect the free surface interface and the Navier–Stokes equations are discretised using finite volumes with collocated primitive variables and solved using a Pressure Implicit with Splitting of Operators (PISO) algorithm. The cylinder is modelled by using the technique of Cartesian cut cells. Results of flow of a single fluid past a cylinder at Reynolds number Re=100 are presented and found to agree well with experimental and other numerical data. Viscous free surface waves in a tank are simulated using uniform and quadtree grids for Reynolds numbers in the range from 2 to 2000, and the results compared against analytical solutions where available. The quadtree-based results are of the same accuracy as those on the equivalent uniform grids, and retain a sharp interface at the free surface while leading to considerable savings in both storage and CPU requirements. The nonlinearity in the wave is investigated for a selection of initial wave amplitudes. A submerged cylinder is positioned in the tank and its influence on the waves as well as the hydrodynamic loading on the cylinder is investigated. 相似文献

热电材料是一种环境友好型功能材料,其可以实现热能与电能的相互转化,在热电发电、热电制冷中具有许多应用.传统的热电发电机为$\pi$型结构,要求热电腿的长度相等,在某些情况该结构不利于热电发电机的优化设计.热电发电机在高温工况下会引起强烈的热应力甚至应力集中,从而缩短了其工作寿命.另外,热电发电机的工作温度于环境温度,这样必然会有一部分热量散失到环境中,从而影响热电发电机的性能.针对该现象,本文建立了考虑散热的新型共线式热电发电机模型,该模型的热电腿可以独立进行优化,基于有限元方法,对考虑侧面散热的共线式热电发电机进行了仿真模拟,分析了其在狄利克雷边界条件下的热电性能和力学性能,得到了热电发电机的温度场、电势场、应力场,探究了不同强度的对流散热系数对热电发电机热电性能和力学性能的影响.结果表明,对流散热会降低热电发电机的能量转化效率,当对流换热系数达到~100W/(m$^{2}\cdot$\textcelsius) 时,效率为~0.0479,该值比绝热状态的转化效率0.066 7 低28%.对流散热使热电发电机侧面热损失增加,降低了热应力.在实际应用中,应合理优化设计隔热系统,提高能量的转化效率. 相似文献

A gas-dynamic flow in an axisymmetric convective jet is studied experimentally. It is demonstrated that the jet flow with
Grashof numbers Gr = (0.4–2.0) · 106 is self-similar. Acoustic oscillations directed perpendicular to the axis of symmetry transform the profiles of the gas-flow
parameters; two temperature maximums located outside the axis can appear. The results obtained indicate that flow instability
is generated in high-gradient regions.

The effect of a traveling sonic wave on a convective flow in a horizontal layer with a fixed linear temperature distribution on the boundaries is investigated. Convective rolls with axes parallel to the basic flow (lengthwise rolls) are considered. On the basis of a weakly nonlinear analysis, it is shown that the lengthwise rolls appear smoothly and the regular flows are stable near the stability threshold. Hydroplaning characteristics of patterned tire on wet road are investigated by making use of finite volume and finite element methods. A detailed 3-D patterned tire model is constructed by our in-house modeling program and the rainwater flow is considered as incompressible and inviscid. Meanwhile, the fluid–structure interaction between the highly complicated tire tread and the rainwater flow is effectively treated by the general coupling method. Through the numerical experiments, the rainwater flow drained through tire grooves, hydrodynamic pressure and contact force are investigated and compared with those of the three-grooved tire model. 相似文献

The characteristic changes in non-premixed lifted flames when excited by hole tones from a cavity, placed in the flow path
of the fuel gas, were studied. A significant reduction of the sound pressure level was observed in the low-frequency noise
at the flame base of the lifted flame when the hole tones were induced in the jet. The liftoff height and the mean diameter
of the flame base decreased for a given jet Reynolds number. The blow-off velocities also increased suggesting improved flame
stability in the presence of the hole tones induced by the cavity. Incorporation of the cavity upstream of a burner nozzle
is demonstrated to give a quieter lifted flame with improved stability characteristics.
